STRANGE HEAT

(Michaud, Correia)

Strange heat been coming ‘round

Set heavy on this town

Can’t tell from all the dreams

Can’t say where all this leads

All yellow, gold and red

Still setting in my head but

For all I know

We’ve seen the darkest road

Some will find their own way

Just living day by day

Stuck on the winter’s closing

On the plans you still got going

All yellow, gold and red

Still setting in my head but

For all I know

We’ve built the darkest road

Strange heat been coming ‘round

Set heavy on this town

Burning the land of Eden

Just like you've been foreseeing

SATISFIED

(Michaud)

Satisfied by only what you know

(Could you believe in something)

Settled on reactionary blows

(Could you foresee this coming)

Constant reminder of your sin

Can you begin

Satisfied by only what you see

(Could you believe in something)

Counting all the headlights from upstream

(Could you foresee this coming)

Bathed in a likeness of the mind

Can you define

Still lost in conflict

Waiting to get picked for the war

Cluttered in a headspace

Trying to win races, for what?

To get the most for your side

Not thinking of the divide

Satisfied believing your own lies

(Could you believe in something)

Settled comfortably in your disguise

(Could you foresee this coming)

No need to reach the other side

When you can hide

COULD BE YOU

(Michaud)

Summer daze and all the ways you went about before

All the times you walked away and ended at your door

Stop wondering just how you got back here

And now it seems your vision ain’t so clear

And if you had to try to

Would you do it all again?

Have I seen you here before or was that just your friend

Standing on the soapbox proselytizing of the end

Of all the things you once considered good

And now they came and wrecked your neighborhood

But if you had the chance to

Would you do it all again?

Did you have to ask yourself while sitting in that bar

If you thought the world was gonna take you very far

Without you ever knowing where to stand

Left reaching in the dark for someone’s hand

HIGH & DRY

(Siadatian)

Standin' right in front of me,

What do you see?

Bark right off the family tree,

And pedigree

Live in foggy clarity,

Naturally

Give me what you've taken back,

I'll never leave

High and dry

What I find,

You might love me if you tried

Sun cascades through plastic shades,

I hideaway

Endless hours burn to haze

And fade away

Spotlights, skylines, bright marquees

Don't care to think

Standin' right in front of me,

What do you see?

High and dry

What I find,

You might love me if you tried

MAUSOLEUM

(Siadatian)

My shining sun went dim,

Colored in absence

When I crossed the wrong lane

And lost the biggest game of all

No I didn't expect to fall that way

Many times over,

Dream and recover,

Back to from where I came,

And here I shall remain,

You can lose your skin and keep your ways

However I moved on,

Come join me when you're gone too

I'll be waiting here

Many times over

Dream and recover

Eternally in age

And now we can all say

Your soul will have a bed to make

However I moved on,

Come join me when you're gone too

ROADSIDE MEMORIAL (Highway Cross)

(Siadatian)

Not quite upright standin',

Aside where you can see,

Bouquet of flowers left to dry

A fair ceremony

Cooped up lifeless energy

And ornamental truth

I can see you standin' there,

But can you see me too?

Highway cross

Framed portrait with cracked glass,

A secondary tomb

The stranger in memoriam

Has crossed his path with you

And as we pass by a moment's grasp,

Hills of melted wax

Before the sunset silhouette

This road will take us back

Highway cross

AUTUMN DAWN

(Siadatian)

The autumn dawn was lovely over sleepy family houses

And I was feeling good so I thought I would take my chances

Slippin' round the corner my mind turns into molasses

I never could forget you girl I'm needin the right answers

Could it be a sanctuary that I can't explain

When tomorrow comes around will you still feel the same?

I'm havin such a hard time keeping calm and pacified

All these crowded thoughts just seem to complicate my life

I should know by now as I have gotten so much older

With every passing hour my heart grows a little bolder

Could it be a sanctuary that I can't explain

When tomorrow comes around will you still feel the same?

FAMOUS PHONE FIGURE

(Dunham)

Mona Lisa smiles by the Louvre

And checks the time on the tube

She's traveling and doing it in style

And it looks like she's been doing it for awhile

Is this some kinda job

She's a famous phone figure

No film or magazines, post, newspaper, no TV

Reflections of a dream, pass by people palm reading

But can they spell her name

She's a famous phone figure

Will she make a daisy chain, with all the comments left in vain

Whats she got to sell, but a pretty face and real estate

200 SOUTH LA BREA

(Dunham)

Down the street with the kosher shops,

Passed the rummage yard with the antique props

Beauty queens and homesick harlots, all line up in an LA gauntlet

It's the corner where dreams are made up

And flaws are fixed up, with pills and powders

The beginning of success and failures at 200 South La Brea

Changed her name and headed to the city, took out a loan and bought herself a Mini

Recites lines at the grocery store, and quotes old movies at table four

They said, "Can you sing, and can you cry, and will you take off your top if the price is right?

"Do you smoke, and do you drink, and do you wash your spoons in the bathroom sink?"

These are questions at 200 South La Brea

Obsessions at 200 South La Brea

WARMED KIPPERS

(Siadatian)

Do you say what you mean or what you believe,

Some folks I meet don't skip a beat to lie through their teeth

Now you can't find a compass to guide everything you do

And you are just an island in a sea of point of views

Words once golden fading into what's between the lines

You can search forever for what's already inside

Do you feel the way you seem outwardly,

Visions of hereafter got you mild and meek

Now you can't find a compass to guide everything you do

And you are just an island in a sea of point of views

Words once golden fading into what's between the lines

You can search forever for what's already inside

TERRA IGNOTA

(Michaud)

Cross over the sea

Take what you need

Turning of leaves

Fall into the sun

Take everyone

Willing to see

Plan a day to slip away unseen

Hone your mind, live for the time and means

Out over the hill

Perched on a sill

Looking within

Now lost on a plane

Reeling again

Feeling quite sane

Plan a day to slip away unseen

Hone your mind, live for the time and means

Finding fault among the rounds

Our heads they reach the clouds

Longing for a way back home

Or do you think aloud

Far out from the shore

Fearing no more

Where this will lead

Thoughts only on now

Never of how

This came to be

PLACE IN THE SUN

(Correia, Siadatian)

An island on land

She writes words in the sand

For you

For you

One of a kind

But she's fallin behind

For you

(She says...)

There's no time to reason why

It's gotta be this way

Once it's gone we can't go on

There's nothing left to say

A place in the sun

She pretends she's the one

For you

For you

Loosing her mind

But she hides it inside

For you

(She says...)

There's no time to reason why

There's nothing left to say

Once it's gone we can't go on

Here comes another day
